My Zen Path

Dear reader,

I wish you a very fulfilling new year and I hope that this year provides you more opportunities to be who you really are! Let this year be filled with joy of doing what you really love doing! As I had paraphrased Anita Moorjani's insights in the last post of the year 2015: Dying to be me

Be yourself and live life fearlessly with love & laughter.

This is the first newsletter of 2016 and I am planning few changes in My Zen Path in this new year. I will continue to write about self-discovery and self-actualization, though the frequency of posts may reduce. Since most of the readers who voted want discussion forum, I will be implementing it on My Zen Path later this month.

It has been an exciting month since I launched beta version of My Zen Path on 25th Nov 2015 and we have these top five posts/pages for 2015 based on the readership.

• How much money do you need to be happy?

• Introducing My Zen Path

• About My Zen Path & Manish

• Rethinking busy life

• Does money bring happiness?

I am including excerpts of these top five posts/pages in this special newsletter and I would love to know your favorite post and your reasons for liking it. You may write it as a comment on the post itself or send me a mail via contact page.

I wish you a great weekend and fulfilling year 2016 ahead!

Thank you!

If you have read the earlier post, you know that research suggests that (a) money can bring happiness only up to an extent (to improve poor life), not beyond that (b) money spent …

About My Zen Path & Manish

About My Zen Path My Zen path is simply My Own Path! Besides its contemporary, colloquial connotations and ongoing trend of using Zen for anything and everything, this is what Bodhidharma had to say about Zen - Zen: Not dependent on the written word, Transmission apart from the scriptures; Directly pointing at one’s heart, Seeing one’s nature, becoming Buddha. Excerpts from: …

Rethinking Work Hours

Rethinking busy life

The Work Culture My twitter time-line was busy bashing Rahul Yadav, former CEO of housing.com recently when he mentioned (implied) that he generally wants to avoid married people as employees as they want to go home as early as they can, while single techies want to work even on Sundays! Likewise, there were lot of discussions going on after Amazon’s …

Money & Happiness

Does money bring happiness?

Almost all of us want to be happy in our life.  One of the reasons we engage in our chosen work is because we hope to derive some happiness from it. However as Barry Schwartz contemplates, a large population is deprived of deriving satisfactions from their work. Many such people among us thus, work for paycheck alone and perhaps, hope …
