The time will pass anyway

This is not really a short-film, but a short montage from Pixar’s animation feature film Up (2009). It’s an amazing film about grumpy but lovable Carl Fredricksen , who sets out to fulfill his  departed wife Ellie’s unfulfilled dream to visit Paradise Falls. I’d highly recommend this film if you haven’t already watched it.

Montage from Pixar’s Up

I’ll just request you to watch this beautiful montage, it is less than 5 mins. See what kind of feelings it evokes….

Here is an interesting insight from a palliative care nurse – Bronnie Ware, in fact this was the top regret of many people on their death bed.

I wish I’d had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me.

“This was the most common regret of all. When people realize that their life is almost over and look back clearly on it, it is easy to see how many dreams have gone unfulfilled. Most people had not honoured even a half of their dreams and had to die knowing that it was due to choices they had made, or not made.

As for me, this couplet from a poem sums up the montage –

In the humdrum of life, I got entangled
Time flew by and dreams got mangled.
